The Domain: AR Lenoble is a rare breed in Champagne—both a highly respected house and independently owned since day one. This is a family resolute in keeping operations close-knit and crafting the greatest, purest expressions from an impressive collection of elite vineyards.
Entirely independent and family-owned, Champagne AR Lenoble was awarded France's Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certification by the Ministry of Agriculture for over 20 years of sustainable vineyard practices.
For this wine, Lenoble combines 55% fruit from the fantastic 2016 base year with 45% “reserve” wine. The 2016 fruit is 20% chardonnay from Chouilly Grand Cru with 35% Pinot Noir from Bisseuil Premier Cru and 45% Pinot Meunier from Damery. The “reserve” wine is from a process, unique to Lenoble, combining wine from a “perpetual reserve” system aged in various sized tanks and casks with wine they carefully aged in Magnums under natural cork in their centuries-old chalk cellars. The dosage is just 3 g/l, which is hard to believe when you taste the rich, mouth-filling flavors.
