Alcohol: 18.5%

Grape(s): 100% Palomino

Localization: Jerez, Spain

Tasting Notes: Bright amber colour with golden hints. This complex Amontillado shows intense smoky wood, and nutty aromas, resulting from years of ageing in the bodegas of Jerez.

Notes: Dry and elegant on the palate, with a long spicy aftertaste. Aged following a biological ageing the first part of its life, then passing on to a longer period under oxidative ageing, inside the Bodega Emperatriz Eugenia in Jerez de la Frontera. This Amontillado is a tribute to friendship in the Air Force wing (“Escuadrilla” in Spanish) of which Emilio Lustau was a member.

Food Pairing: Pair it with artichokes, consommés, cold and smoked meats, even rich flavoured fish dishes. It is a perfect wine to accompany spicy Asian cuisine.

The Domain: There were two arches at the entrance to the winery at Plaza del Cubo, where this Amontillado was aged. Each one was dedicated to one of Emilio Lustau’s sons’ wives: Arco de Zuri (for Emilio Lustau Ruiz-Berdejo’s wife) and Trini (wife of José Luis Lustau Ruiz-Berdejo)

The origins of The House of Lustau date back to 1896, when Mr. José Ruiz-Berdejo, started cultivating the vines of the family’s estate in his spare time. In these humble beginnings he made wines which were then sold to larger sherry producers. This activity was known as being an almacenista. Lustau is nowadays considered a world-class benchmark for top – quality wines. Lustau has repeatedly been awarded with multiple awards and trophies from around the world. These accolades have been achieved by our products and our team, both considered best of the industry. The day-to-day work and the wisdom transmitted from generation to generation of craftsmen, come together in the care of our casks.

More than 125 years of history and expertise combined with our team’s passion and dedication shape the character and personality of our wines.
